Mark has a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors, as well as political circles.
Mark has strong ties with figures within the federal Liberal leadership, having first developed these relationships when serving as a Senior Adviser to Prime Minister John Howard within the Cabinet Policy Unit. He played a key role in developing whole-of-government policy, managing day-to-day Cabinet processes, and coordinating the Coalition’s election policy platform. Additionally, he was the Prime Minister’s senior speechwriter.
Mark's career also includes time as the Group Head of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs at Westpac Banking Corporation and Advance Bank, where he ultimately became Chief Executive of the ACT Region. He has also served as Secretary of the Department of Business, Arts, Sport and Tourism for the ACT Government. In recognition of his contributions to the Canberra community, Mark was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2019. He is currently the Chair of Anglicare ACT, New South Wales South and New South Wales West.
