Steve Grzeskowiak is a former Deputy Secretary with the Department of Defence. He brings with him a wealth of experience working at the highest level in Government in policy development, strategy, and service delivery. In Steve’s last appointment, he was responsible for managing the Defence Estate and the provision of hard and soft facility management services across all Defence-owned and leased properties, including oversight of the Estate Capital Investment Program.
Steve was also the Defence Indigenous Champion responsible for promoting Defence Indigenous engagement with a particular emphasis on creating Indigenous employment opportunities through the Defence supply chain. During this period, Defence was recognised multiple times by Supply Nation for its work in this area.
Prior to Defence, Steve spent six years leading People Policy Development in Defence for both the Australian Public Service and the Australian Defence Force conditions of service.
His earlier engineering career with the UK Ministry of Defence was focused on Defence Material Acquisition where Steve developed his project management and commercial skills. This period included three years seconded to NATO within the Eurofighter PMO, and two years in Australia on exchange with the Department of Defence.
